About the Club

Glasgow's home of korfball — and a pretty good bunch of people

Our History

Glasgow Korfball Club started with a handful of people who wanted to bring something different to Scottish sport. That small group has grown into the oldest and largest korfball club in the West of Scotland — competing from local leagues all the way up to national championships. We've come a long way, and we're just getting started.

Our Teams

We run four teams across the Scottish Korfball League — so whether you're brand new to the sport or you've been playing for years, there's a squad for you.

1s

First Team

Our top side and the most decorated team in Scottish korfball — multiple league champions and regular contenders at UK level. The 1s train on Tuesdays at Lourdes and Wednesdays at Shawlands. If you're experienced and hungry to compete at the highest level, this is where you want to be.

Tuesday & Wednesday
2s

Second Team

Competitive and ambitious, the 2s are a strong league side in their own right — not a stepping stone, a destination. They train alongside the first team on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which means high-quality sessions and a direct pathway to the top squad for players who are ready to push.

Tuesday & Wednesday
3s

Third Team

The 3s are where developing players hit their stride. Thursday sessions at Notre Dame are focused on building real game understanding — tactical awareness, positioning, and the confidence to take your game to the next level. Wednesday whole-team training at Shawlands brings the full squad together. A great fit for players with some experience who want to keep improving.

4s

Fourth Team

Never played korfball? Perfect — the 4s are built for you. Thursday training at Notre Dame is welcoming, low-pressure, and genuinely fun. You'll also join the whole squad on Wednesdays at Shawlands as you find your feet. Learn the basics, get plenty of game time, and find out pretty quickly why people get hooked on this sport. Your first session is free.

What We Stand For

What We're About

Inclusivity

Korfball is genuinely for everyone — any gender, any background, any ability. That's not just a tagline, it's built into the sport itself.

Teamwork

You can't play korfball alone — and you wouldn't want to. We look out for each other on and off the court.

Community

Training nights, socials, tournaments, group chats that never sleep — GKC is a club you actually want to be part of.

Excellence

We want to win, and we work hard to do it. But we also know that getting better is a journey, not a destination.
